Fyaar is a story-reading platform operated by Fyaar Technologies, India. Our Service is available globally, with a primary focus on users in India.

We offer a library of stories across genres and age groups, accessible via our iOS and Android apps.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide via Social Login

We use Google, Apple, and Facebook for authentication. When you log in, these providers may share the following with us (subject to your permissions):

• Full name
• Email address
• Profile picture (if available)

We do not receive or store your social account password.

2.2 Information We Collect Automatically

When you use our Service, we automatically collect:

• Device identifiers (device model, OS version, unique device ID)
• App version and installation data
• IP address and approximate location (country/region level)
• Log data (access times, pages viewed, errors, crash reports)
• Reading history and preferences (stories read, genres browsed, time spent)
• Analytics data about how you interact with the app

2.3 User-Generated Content

If you post comments, ratings, reviews, or other content on the platform, that content is collected and stored by us. Content you post may be visible to other users.

2.4 Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect your phone number
• We do not collect precise GPS location
• We do not collect payment or financial information (no subscriptions or purchases currently)
• We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information for the following purposes:

• To create and manage your account
• To personalise your reading experience and recommend stories
• To remember your reading history and preferences across sessions
• To improve, maintain, and operate the Service
• To analyse usage trends and fix bugs
• To moderate user-generated content and enforce our Community Guidelines
• To communicate with you about updates, new features, or support requests
• To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents
• To comply with applicable legal obligations

4. Legal Basis for Processing

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), UK, and other jurisdictions that require a legal basis for data processing, we rely on the following:

• Contract: Processing necessary to provide you the Service (account management, reading history)
• Legitimate Interests: Analytics, security, fraud prevention, and improving the Service
• Consent: Where required, such as for optional personalisation features or marketing communications
• Legal Obligation: Where required by applicable law

For users in India, we process your data in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and applicable rules.

5. Data Retention

5.1 Active Accounts

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you the Service.

5.2 Deleted Accounts

When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law (e.g., for fraud investigations or legal proceedings).

5.3 User-Generated Content

Comments and reviews you have posted may remain visible after account deletion unless you specifically request their removal prior to or at the time of account deletion. Contact us at privacy@fyaar.in to request removal.

5.4 Analytics and Log Data

Anonymised analytics and log data may be retained for up to 24 months for the purpose of improving the Service.

5.5 Backups

Residual copies may remain in backup systems for up to 90 days after the standard deletion period.

6. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:

6.1 Service Providers

We share data with trusted third-party vendors who help us operate the Service, including:

• Cloud hosting and storage providers
• Analytics providers (e.g., Google Analytics, Firebase)
• Crash reporting services (e.g., Sentry, Crashlytics)

These providers are contractually bound to process your data only as we instruct and to protect it appropriately.

6.2 Social Login Providers

Your use of Google, Apple, or Facebook login is subject to the respective privacy policies of those providers. We receive only the data they share with us pursuant to your permissions.

6.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or a government authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Fyaar, our users, or others.

6.4 Business Transfers

If Fyaar is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

6.5 With Your Consent

We may share your data with other parties with your explicit consent.

7. International Data Transfers

Fyaar is based in India. Our servers and service providers may be located in India and other countries, including the United States and countries in the European Union. If you are located outside India, your data will be transferred to and processed in these countries.

Where required by applicable law (e.g., GDPR), we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms.

8. Chisldren's Privacy

Our Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@fyaar.in and we will delete that information promptly.

While our stories span all age groups, users must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Users aged 13–17 should use the Service only with the knowledge and consent of a parent or guardian.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
• Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal obligations)
• Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format
• Objection: Object to certain processing activities (e.g., direct marketing)
• Restriction: Request that we restrict processing of your data
• Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time

If you are located in India, you may also have rights under the DPDP Act, 2023, including the right to nominate a person to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity.

10. Data Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include:

• Encryption of data in transit (TLS/HTTPS)
• Encryption of data at rest
• Access controls and authentication for our internal systems
• Regular security reviews and vulnerability assessments

However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Our mobile apps do not use browser cookies. However, we and our third-party partners may use similar tracking technologies such as:

• Mobile advertising IDs (IDFA on iOS, GAID on Android) — for analytics and aggregate usage tracking
• Firebase SDK — for crash reporting and analytics
• Local device storage — to store your reading preferences and session data

You can limit ad tracking through your device settings: on iOS, go to Settings > Privacy > Tracking; on Android, go to Settings > Google > Ads.

12. Third-Party Links and Services

Our Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties.

We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access through our app.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:
